Research interests of the department are circulations and currents, water mass formation and motion, waves, interactions between the sea and the atmosphere, rivers, bays and water exchange potential between the seas close to each other, coastal hydrodynamics and sediment transport, marine monitoring and its applications, marine ecosystem dynamics, satellite remote sensing methods and climate changes.
